What the coach does

The coach is with you only during an Active Phase. In Maintenance Mode it stays quiet.

Every day

On Today, the coach reads your steps, calories, protein and Power Walks against the plan and says how they stand, in a sentence or two. It doesn’t change your targets during the week.

Once a week

At the weekly check-in the coach changes at most one thing. What it can do:

  • Add one Power Walk to your week, when walks have fallen short.
  • Raise your protein a little, when weight is coming off faster than planned.
  • Offer a choice when weight is flat or rising while you’ve kept to your calories and walks: a few more steps, a small trim to calories, or holding everything as it is. The coach suggests steps first.
  • Update your calorie target from what it has learned about your energy use, if you accept. A large change is made a step at a time.

Often the answer is “We change nothing. Continue.”

What it never does

  • It never cuts your calories without asking you.
  • It never sets calories below the program’s minimum: 1,200 kcal for women, 1,500 kcal for men or if you haven’t said.
  • It never starts a change in the last few days of a phase.
  • It never scores you or counts streaks. A slow week is something it reads, not something it judges.
